A tour towards north will take you to touch and feel history of magnificent castle, tall and taking pride in monument, splendid beauty of nature and a working whiskey Distillery from 19th century.
Located in Stirling, historically and architecturally significant castle of Stirling is one of the largest of Scotland which was once a centre for celebrations by kings and queens. This castle has witnessed many sieges including wars of Scottish independence. Its strategically defensive position, surrounded by cliffs on three sides adhered the intruders in times gone by. Structures being added to it with time as there can be seen recreational historical displays. You will dwell into vast history and importance of the castle.
Sir William Wallace, patriot, martyr and guardian of Scotland deserves a salute as you pass by Wallace Monument, standing tall and proud over 140 years. History becomes alive here.
Taking A811 we will drive to largest in Britain by surface area, freshwater loch in Scotland, Loch Lomond. It is Scotland’s premier water sport venue. Option of cruise is off course available with us as a plus.
Lunch at Balmaha on the shore of Lomond will romanticize your day even more.
Direction is down to south as we move towards our next spot which would be unique Glengoyne Whisky Distillery. It is in operation since it is founded, 1833. Its exclusive feature is that Glengoyne does not use peat smoke to dry its barley; instead it uses warm water for the purpose.
